Early Life

Dikko Umaru Radda was born on September 10, 1970 in Hayin Gada town, Dutsin-ma Local Government Area, Katsina State. He will be 53 years old by September 10, 2023, an increase from his current age of 52.

Dikko Radda is a native of Katsina State and belongs to the Hausa-Fulani ethnic group. Radda attended Radda Primary School as his initial educational setting from 1974 until 1980. He later attended Zaria Teachers College from 1980 to 1985.

He persisted in Kafanchan College of Education from 1986 to 1990, where he received his NCE certificate.

He received a 1992 admission to Bauchi’s Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, where he got a B-Tech in Agricultural Economics and Extension (Hons) degree.

Later, in 2004, he received his MSC in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria. Radda returned to ABU Zaria in 2005 to pursue a master’s in international relations and diplomacy.

He received a PhD in rural sociology and agriculture in 2015.

Career

Dikko Radda has diverse career experience, including time spent as a teacher, banker, and government employee.

He taught between 1989 and 1999 before joining the now-defunct FSB World Bank, where he worked as a banker from 1999 until 2003.

He was chosen to lead the Charanchi Local Government of Katsina State in January 2005 and held that position until April 2007.

Radda has additionally held several government roles. She served as the Senior Assistant to Members of Parliament at the National Assembly in Abuja from 2012 to 2014. He served as the Public Welfare (APC) Secretary from June 2014 to July 2015.

He held the traditional throne of Gwagwar Katsina in the Katsina Emirate and was named Chief of Staff to the Governor of Katsina State.

The Director General and CEO of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) is now Dikko Radda. President Muhammadu Buhari reappointed him to lead SMEDAN for a second term in March 2021.

Political Life

Radda legitimately entered Nigerian politics to contest the 2023 election for governor of Katsina State.

The Katsina State governor primary election was conducted on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. He successfully stood for office as an APC candidate.

Achievements
