Following the trial, she was sentenced to house arrest and four years probation, while her father served jail term till 2013 and her mother was sentenced to over a year in prison.
In 2008, she was sent to federal prison to serve six months after being convicted of fraud and conspiracy over receiving $71,000 from her father’s company for teaching courses at the sister, Clara Muhammad School for courses never taught.
In 2013, she filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles stating that she had been receiving emails from an unidentified person threatening the safety of her and her family over false accusations.
