Ablett’s exceptional performance in the 1989 VFL Grand Final, where he kicked nine goals, earned him the Norm Smith Medal.
He achieved numerous accolades throughout his career, including three Coleman Medals, four All-Australian team selections, and Geelong’s all-time leading goalkicker record with 1021 goals.
