Career

Graham Goode, after achieving success in national motorsport championships, moved up to the British Saloon Car Championship in 1984, racing a Nissan Bluebird from his own company.

He quickly found success, scoring several race wins and finishing 3rd in class in his debut season. The following year saw him continue his strong performance.

In 1987, taking advantage of his relationship with Ford, Goode became one of the first drivers to race the Ford Sierra RS500, in fact taking the car’s inaugural victory.

He continued campaigning the RS500 in subsequent seasons, building his own cars independently to compete in the series. Goode expanded his team, bringing on additional drivers like Sean Walker and Mike Newman, but was unable to replicate his earlier success.

As Ford was not investing heavily in any one team, and Goode lacked sufficient funding, the team’s results became more difficult to achieve. When the regulations switched to the super touring format in 1991, Goode ran the car for driver Andy Middlehurst, and despite limited resources, still managed a competitive season.

Following this, Goode left the British Touring Car Championship and began racing in Malaysia, where he found success, winning races in the Far East.
