Ryan Lee Moore (born September 18, 1983) is an English flat racing jockey who was the Champion Jockey in 2006, 2008, and 2009. He is currently the first-choice jockey for Aidan O’Brien’s Ballydoyle operation.

Ryan Moore was born on September 18, 1983, in Brighton, East Sussex, England, to Mr. Gary L. Moore, a successful trainer and former jockey, and Mrs. Jayne Moore. Growing up in a jockey family, Moore was surrounded by racing from a young age. His siblings, Jamie Moore, Joshua Moore, and Hayley Moore, are also successful jockeys.

Ryan’s grandfather, Charlie Moore, was a famed trainer who lived near Brighton Racecourse, and his aunt, Candy Moore, is also a jockey. Ryan began riding at four and took lessons from his grandfather and with the pony club.
