Nigerian-American businessman Francis Van-Lare has addressed the circumstances surrounding the suicide of Dr. Ikenna Erinne, the former partner of his daughter, Suzette Chibuogu Van-Lare. According to Van-Lare, Erinne, a US-based Nigerian cardiologist, took his own life amid a heated child custody battle, contradicting claims that financial pressure from child support obligations was the primary cause.

Van-Lare dismissed reports that Erinne was ordered to pay $15,000 in monthly child support, clarifying that the actual amount was $1,900. He released bank records and court documents to support his statement, further labelling Erinne a “deadbeat dad” for allegedly making incomplete payments.
