Lagos State DSVA Responds to Influencer SirJarus’ Admission of Domestic Violence

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has responded to a tweet by popular influencer Suraj Oyewale, also known as SirJarus, where he admitted to physically assaulting his wife. The DSVA, committed to preventing and addressing domestic and sexual violence, emphasized the seriousness of the situation.

SirJarus‘ tweet, which has since been deleted, sparked significant social media backlash, prompting the DSVA to step in. The agency reiterated that any form of domestic violence is unacceptable and that the Lagos State Government maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards it.

In their official statement, the DSVA said, “Our attention has been drawn to a tweet made by @SirJarus. As the Statutory Agency in Lagos State dedicated to preventing and responding to domestic and sexual violence, we take this very seriously. Domestic violence in any form is unacceptable, and the Lagos State Government maintains a zero-tolerance stance against it.”

The agency has referred the case to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation, underscoring its commitment to addressing such issues swiftly and effectively.
