Manchester United Sign Patrick Dorgu from Lecce in €35M Deal

Manchester United have completed the signing of Danish left-back Patrick Dorgu from Lecce for €35 million. The 20-year-old, known for his dynamic performances in Serie A, will strengthen United’s defense under manager Ruben Amorim.

Dorgu’s versatility as both a full-back and wing-back made him a key target for United, who have been seeking reinforcements following injuries to Luke Shaw. The deal includes an initial €30 million fee, with an additional €5 million in potential add-ons.

Lecce’s director of football, Pantaleo Corvino, acknowledged the club’s loss but praised Dorgu’s development, calling the transfer a “testament to his hard work and potential.”

For United, the signing aligns with Amorim’s vision of adding adaptable, high-energy players to his squad. “Patrick fits perfectly into our plans,” Amorim stated. “He’s young, energetic, and can influence games at both ends of the pitch.”

Dorgu is set to arrive in Manchester over the weekend for his medical and final paperwork. If all goes smoothly, he could make his debut in the FA Cup fourth-round clash against Leicester City on February 7.
