Veteran Nollywood actress, filmmaker, and producer Omoni Oboli faced a brief setback when her latest movie, Love in Every Word, was unexpectedly removed from YouTube on March 11, 2025, due to a copyright infringement claim.

The film, which had already garnered over 7 million views in just two days, was pulled down following a complaint from Chinonso Obiora (Skyberry), sparking outrage and speculation among fans.

Oboli, a powerhouse in the Nigerian film industry, is known for acclaimed works such as The Figurine (2009), Anchor Baby (2010), and Wives on Strike (2016). Love in Every Word, written by Mfon-Abasi Michael Inyang and produced by Oboli, is a heartfelt romantic drama exploring love, communication, and relationship resilience.

It features a star-studded cast, including former Big Brother Naija star Bamike “Bam Bam” Olawunmi-Adenibuyan as Chioma and Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe as Odogwu Obiora, alongside Susan Jimah, Amanda Iriekpen, and Osereme Inegbenebor.

Following the film’s takedown, fans flooded social media with outrage, accusing the complainant of “wickedness” and questioning whether the storyline had been sold multiple times. However, the dispute was swiftly resolved. By March 12, 2025, at 07:09 AM WAT, Oboli announced via social media that the issue had been cleared.

“Thank you for the love and concern. I deeply appreciate your messages. There was a little misunderstanding with our movie Love in Every Word. It’s been sorted out now, and we are back stronger than ever!” she wrote, sharing a link to the restored movie.

Oboli’s career is marked by numerous achievements, including being the first Nollywood actress to win Best Actress awards at both the Harlem International Film Festival and Los Angeles Movie Awards in the same year (2010) for Anchor Baby.

Beyond her filmmaking success, she is a dedicated philanthropist, running The Omoni Oboli Foundation to support underprivileged women and children in Nigeria.
