Popular but controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has been granted bail of ₦2 million by a magistrate court in Ogun State on February 20, 2025. This follows his arraignment on multiple charges related to an alleged altercation with state officials.

The street-hop artist, famous for his energetic performances and headline-grabbing antics, pleaded not guilty to a five-count charge, including conspiracy, assault, obstruction, possession of weapons, and conduct likely to cause harm.

Reports say Portable’s arrest stemmed from a clash with government officials, though details remain unclear. During the hearing, his lawyer pleaded for bail, arguing that the singer was remorseful and had learned from the incident. The magistrate eventually approved bail because he provided one surety of the same amount.

Following the court’s decision, social media reactions were mixed. While some users expressed surprise, others speculated on how this could affect Portable’s career and public image.

This isn’t the first time the “Zazu” crooner has faced legal trouble. In April 2023, he was granted bail by a High Court in Ifo, Ogun State, in a different case, adding to a growing list of legal battles.

As of now, Portable’s team has not released an official statement on the matter. For the time being, he remains free on bail as the legal process unfolds.
