Rapper Dank Demoss Sues Lyft for Size Discrimination

Dajua Blanding, known by her stage name Dank Demoss, has initiated a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against the ride-sharing company Lyft. This legal action comes after an incident where a Lyft driver allegedly refused to provide service to the rapper due to her size, describing her as “too big” to fit in his vehicle.

According to reports, the incident occurred when Demoss booked a ride through the Lyft app. Upon the driver’s arrival, he reportedly denied her entry into his car, citing that she would not fit and expressing concerns about his car’s tires handling her weight. Despite Demoss‘ assurances that she could manage to fit in the vehicle, the driver canceled the ride, ensuring she wouldn’t be charged for the service.

Demoss, who weighs approximately 489 pounds (221.8 kg), captured the interaction on video, which has since gone viral across various social media platforms. The video shows the back-and-forth between Demoss and the driver, where she repeatedly claims she can fit, only to be rebuffed by the driver, who states, “Believe me, you can’t.”

Following the incident, Lyft issued an apology for the driver’s actions and promised to look into the matter. However, Demoss has moved forward with legal action, alleging discrimination based on her size, which her attorneys argue is a protected characteristic under Michigan law.

The lawsuit has sparked a significant debate online, with opinions sharply divided.
