Singer Portable Arraigned in Ogun Court Over Alleged Assault on Officials
Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was arraigned this morning at the Isabo High Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on charges related to the alleged assault of government officials.
His arraignment stems from a February 5, 2025, incident in which he and his associates reportedly attacked officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development during an enforcement exercise at his establishment, Odogwu Bar, in Sango-Ota.

Following the incident, the Ogun State Police Command declared Portable wanted on February 17 after he evaded arrest for over a week. He later surrendered to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba on February 19 and was subsequently transferred to Ogun State for prosecution.
According to police reports, the confrontation escalated when officials attempted to enforce regulations at his property, resulting in a violent altercation that left some officials injured.

Portable now faces multiple charges, including conspiracy, assault, and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace. Nine of his associates had already been arraigned on February 6 before a Magistrates’ Court in Isabo, Abeokuta, on similar charges of felony, assault, and obstruction. They pleaded not guilty and were granted bail set at ₦5 million each, while Portable remained at large until his recent surrender.
The Ogun State Government has strongly condemned his actions, with officials labeling him a “serial dissident” and reaffirming their commitment to upholding the law. The case has attracted significant public interest, with both fans and critics closely following the court proceedings. Further updates are expected on the charges against the “Zazoo Zehh” singer as the hearing continues.
This is not Portable‘s first brush with the law. In 2023, he was arrested by the Ogun State Police Command over a separate assault case, underscoring a pattern of confrontations with authorities.
