SHOCKING: Cubana Chief Priest Faces Court for Lavish Act with Naira

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is set to arraign famous Nigerian socialite Pascal Okechukwu, famously known as Cubana Chief Priest, for alleged naira abuse.

Chief Priest faces a three-count charge for purportedly contravening the Central Bank Act of 2007. The EFCC accuses him of spraying and tampering with the naira during social events, which is considered an offense under the said act.

Scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, Chief Priest will face Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The charges, filed on April 4th by EFCC prosecutor Rotimi Oyedepo, with seven other lawyers representing the Commission’s chairman, outline the allegations against Chief Priest.

Count 1 alleges that on February 13th, 2024, at Eko Hotel, Chief Priest tampered with N500 notes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying them for two hours during a social event, contravening Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007.

Count 2 states that a similar offense occurred in Lagos in 2020 during another social event, with Chief Priest spraying N500 notes for two hours, violating the Central Bank Act.

Count 3 alleges a repeat offense in January 2024 in Lagos, where Chief Priest sprayed N500 notes during a social event, again violating the Central Bank Act.

This development follows the recent arraignment of another social media personality, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, on similar charges by the EFCC. Bobrisky was subsequently sentenced to a six-month jail term without bail.
