The Story Behind Pa Mike Ejeagha’s Trending Song: The Tale of Adaeze and Mbe

July 24, 2024 0 Posted By Kaptain Kush

The song tells the tale of Adaeze, the beautiful and sought-after daughter of the king, who has yet to choose a husband from the many suitors vying for her hand.

Concerned by his daughter’s indecision, the king summoned his family and asked Adaeze why she had rejected all her suitors.

Adaeze, renowned as one of the most beautiful women in the village, desired a suitor who would arrive with an elephant, a symbol of strength, status, and power. She envisioned herself riding the majestic creature during ceremonies and celebrations, a clear sign that she was the king’s daughter.

Enter Mbe, the tortoise, who also had his eye on Adaeze but had failed miserably in his previous attempts to win her affection. When Mbe heard of Adaeze‘s desire for an elephant-riding suitor, he hatched a cunning plan.

Mbe visited his best friend, Enyi, the elephant, to share the news that Enyi had been appointed as the chairman of a grand ceremony organized by the king. Enyi was thrilled to be chosen for such an important role. He saw this as the perfect opportunity to finally win Adaeze‘s heart.

After meeting with Enyi, Mbe quickly arranged an appointment with the king, informing him that he intended to marry his daughter. On the day of the ceremony, Mbe intentionally arrived late at Enyi‘s house. As the supposed chairman, the elephant was restless and wondered why the chairman of such an important event should be late.

As they made their way to the king’s palace, Enyi urged Mbe to hurry, but Mbe, being naturally slow, couldn’t keep up. He manipulated and convinced Enyi to carry him on his back and asked to use a rope to tie around Enyi’s neck to help him climb up. The elephant, unsuspecting and eager to please, agreed.

Upon reaching the king’s palace, Mbe shouted at the top of his voice, announcing that he had brought an elephant for the king’s daughter. The unsuspecting elephant, Enyi, believed he was coming to serve as the ceremony’s chairman, unaware that Mbe had planned to trade him in order to marry Adaeze.

This story highlights the betrayal, cunning, manipulation, and dishonesty of the tortoise, Mbe, in his quest to achieve his goal of marrying Adaeze. It is a cautionary tale about the dangers of deceit and the importance of trust in relationships.
