A BBC weather presenter, Carol Kirkwood, previously married to Jimmy Kirkwood, has happily shared the news of her recent marriage to partner Steve Randall. The intimate ceremony unfolded on a Wednesday in Buckinghamshire, creating a blissful beginning for the newlyweds.

Kirkwood, 61, radiated immense happiness when reflecting on the special day, describing the wedding as “the most perfect and romantic and intimate.” The announcement follows Kirkwood‘s live engagement revelation during a BBC Breakfast segment at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2022. Displaying her engagement ring during a weather forecast, she recounted the surprise proposal during a picnic, initially mistaking it for a jest.

Expressing gratitude on X (formerly Twitter), Kirkwood thanked well-wishers and shared the couple’s overflowing happiness. While clarifying it was not a “secret” wedding but a private one, she kept the details close to her heart.

Inverness-shire-born Kirkwood has been an integral part of the BBC Weather Centre team since 1998. Her impressive track record includes winning the best TV weather presenter title at the Television and Radio Industries Club Awards nine times from 2012 to 2017. Beyond meteorology, Kirkwood showcased her talents in the 13th series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2015 and has authored several novels.

Maintaining discretion about specific details concerning Steve, she previously described him as “extremely handsome” and shared endearing aspects of their relationship. In an interview with Prima Magazine, Kirkwood highlighted his romantic gestures, such as preparing morning tea before her early shifts and leaving love notes for her return from work.

“He always makes me a cup of tea before I go to work, which is very romantic – it’s 2.45am! And he often leaves me a little love note for when I come home from work. That, to me, is worth a million red roses,” she expressed, affirming that he is “the best thing that’s ever happened to me, without a shadow of a doubt.”
