Country star Zac Brown and his wife, Kelly Yazdi, have chosen to go their separate ways just four months into their marriage. The couple, who said their vows in Georgia this past August, have confirmed their forthcoming divorce, ending their brief union.

The joint statement announcing their decision was released to Billboard on December 29, conveying the former couple’s enduring respect for each other. “We are currently in the process of divorce,” the statement conveyed. “Our mutual respect remains intact. We extend our best wishes to each other and will always treasure the time we spent together. As we navigate this personal matter, we kindly request privacy during this period.”

Rumours of trouble surfaced, initially reported by TMZ, when Yazdi, a 32-year-old model, deactivated and later reactivated her Instagram account using her maiden name. Notably, any mention of her husband vanished from her page, and the couple is no longer connected on social media.

Zac Brown, the 45-year-old lead of the Zac Brown Band, was previously married to jewellery designer Shelly Brown. Their 12-year marriage concluded in 2018, and they share five children—Justice Brown, 16; Lucy Brown, 15; Georgia Brown, 13; Joni Brown, 12; and Alexander Brown, 9.

The split between Brown and Yazdi joins the ranks of celebrity couples parting ways as 2023 comes to a close. Noteworthy names in recent breakups include Kathy Griffin, who filed for divorce from Randy Bick shortly before their fourth wedding anniversary, along with music couples Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd, and Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner.
