Deanne Hoffer, and grew up with one sibling, Jacob Hoffer. Jinkx attended da Vinci Arts Middle School and Grant High School. Despite being raised Catholic, Jinkx eventually came out as gay and identified as gender fluid.

After working as a custodian through college, Jinkx graduated with a BFA in theater from Cornish College of the Arts in 2010. Jinkx then went on to become a successful drag performer, winning the fifth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2013.

Personal Life

Jinkx Monsoon and Michael Abbott announced their separation in February 2024. The couple first met in March 2019 at Kiki Club in Manchester, England, UK, where Michael worked as a bar attendant.

Despite having plans to go out with a fellow drag queen, Jinkx’s plans fell through, leading to their serendipitous meeting. The two got married on January 6, 2021, in their living room in Portland, Oregon, United States.

However, due to COVID-19 limitations, their wedding was a small, intimate event with only three guests present. Despite their small ceremony, their friends and family were able to witness the ceremony through a virtual officiant, comedian Devan Green from California, United States.
